Vote of NO Confidemce System

Postby JangoFett on Tue May 20, 2008 9:23 pm

Due to past issues of one clan leader exploiting his/her powers this process must be put into effect. I have also promised all of you that I would make a new system for you all to kick a leader if we ever go nuts.

The 'VoNC' (Vote of NO Confidence) is a new and hopefully effective way of getting rid of leaders who are running amok.
It works like this, all members holding the rank of Senior Member and above have the right to initiate a VoNC. A member is only ever allowed to initiate one in his time in the clan.

To initiate a VoNC you must make a post in the forums explaining exactly why you are doing it, you must quote at least 3 CoC rules that have been broken. The VoNC must also be allowed by at least one officer, this officer cannot be the one who initiated the vote. The VoNC period has then begun, it will last 7 days. During this time the Clan Leaders Administrator powers will be revoked but they will still have access to all areas of the forums. The Senior Member/Officer/Co-Leader who initiated the VoNC will also have any administrator powers they hold removed. During this period all members holding the rank of Senior Member and above will have a chance to keep or vote out the leader. To successfully kick the leader you must have an 80% majority vote (can be worked out mathematically.) If the leader is successfully voted out of power a new leader will take the reigns (this will not be the member that initiated the vote) and the clan leader can be allowed by them to remain in the clan as a probationary Senior Member. They can also be completely kicked from the clan. However, if the vote is unsuccessful, the clan leader then has the right to demote or kick the member that initiated the vote.

Do not abuse this system, there will be no 'joke' VoNC's, that will result in a severe punishment. This is a serious system and must only be resorted to under extreme circumstances such as the ones we experienced with the past leader. This system can only be used to kick a or take away powers from a 'wild' leader. Using the excuse 'I want to be leader now' is not a valid reason to initiate this system and using it will cause the VonC to be revoked and a review of the member's status in the clan. To prevent this, members of the rank of General Member and below will not be allowed to take up the role of leadership if they initiate the VoNC. This means that only other Clan Leaders, Co-leaders and Clan Officers can become leader after a successful VoNC.

Furthermore, only members who have been in the clan for a duration of 31 days or more may vote in a VoNC. The 31 days begin to 'tick off' from when they become a General Member, not when they become a Recruit*.

Hopefully this will stop from happening what happened last time. I really do hope we never have to use this system.

* A reminder that Recruit status takes 1-2 weeks to complete.
